Parangtritis is a popular tourist beach, it is about 30 km south of the city of Yogyakarta, Java, Indonesia. Choumeizai has seen many beautiful scenery in the world, but still finds that the sunset in Parangtritis is incredibly impressive.
It is Sunday evening, many locals are flying kites, jogging or making sandcastles on the beach, but no one is swimming.
The beach is very big and Choumeizai doesn’t want to walk, so he hires a horse-drawn cart to ride along.
The tide keeps polishing and makes the beach smooth as a mirror, both sky and earth are glittering, the light seems coming from heaven.
There are few fishermen fishing along the shore by traditional tools, all of them become silhouettes with a golden background, beautiful as a postcard.
The sun will disappear very soon, but the twilight is still struggling, the purple beach reflecting the orange clouds from the sky, looks like an abstract oil painting, amazing.
Drownings are not uncommon at Parangtritis due to the sizable waves of the beach, and partly because many Indonesians cannot swim well.
