High West (Chinese: 西高山) is a mountain on Hong Kong Island with a height of 494 meters. It is located at the west of The Peak (太平山), north of Pok Fu Lam (薄扶林) and south of Lung Fu Shan (龍虎山). The scenery of High West is very beautiful at dusk.
There are no roads or cable cars up High West, you can hike to the top by a hiking trail near the junction of Hatton Road (夏力道) and Lugard Road (盧吉道).
The hiking trail is not steep, but there is no place to rest on the way.
It takes about 40 minutes to climb to the top of the mountain from the starting point of the hiking trail.
There is a viewing platform and a triangulation station at the top of High West, but the place is quite small and always crowded at sunset.
From the top of High West, you can enjoy the scenery of the western and southern parts of Hong Kong Island.
There are no lights on the hiking trails in High West, so it will be dark after the sun goes down. Remember to bring lighting equipment.
