Kat O (Chinese: 吉澳) also named Crooked Island, is an island in Northeast Hong Kong. Kat O was once a major fishing market in Hong Kong and long served as an important stopover for boats travelling between Hong Kong and the rest of China.
Kat O Main Street is the most prosperous street of the island, where you can shop and dine.
The village of Tung O (東澳) is located on the northwest coast of the island, more peaceful in comparison to the Kat O Main Street.
At the end of the village there is an extremely clean public toilet, which also enjoys the panoramic seaview.
With an area of 2.35 km², Kat O is the closest island to Mainland China in Hong Kong.
The scenery of the seashore is much more beautiful, so Choumeozai walks on the beach on his way back to the pier.
Most of the houses by the sea have been abandoned, they look sad under the setting sun.
To visit Kat O, you can take the scheduled ferry operating on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
