Erawan National Park (Thai: อุทยานแห่งชาติเอราวัณ) is located in western Thailand in the Tenasserim Hills of Kanchanaburi (กาญจนบุรี) Province. Founded in 1975, it was Thailand's 12th national park.
The major attraction of Erawan National Park is the waterfalls, which are said to resemble the Erawan, the three-headed white elephant of Hindu mythology.
Erawan (เอราวัณ) is one of the Thai names of Airavata. Airavata is depicted as a huge elephant with either three or sometimes thirty-three heads which are often shown with more than two tusks. Some statues show Indra, the king of Tavatimsa Heaven, riding on Erawan.
The quality of the water is excellent, the splash from the waterfall smells refreshing, Choumeizai is so invigorated.
The top waterfall has very rich minerals, the whole pond appears to be dreamy powder blue, it can make your skin silky, so better soak here if you have time.
Erawan National Park is not so big and the hiking trail is not steep also, an ideal tourist attraction for families.
