Zhangye National Geopark (Chinese: 張掖國家地質公園) is located in Linze (臨澤) counties within the prefecture-level city of Zhangye (張掖), Gansu (甘肅)Province, China. The park is the destination for many Chinese and international tourists due to its beautiful landscape.
Zhangye National Geopark covers an area of 322 square kilometres, there are many observation decks and hiking trails inside the park.
Zhangye National Geopark has typical Danxia (Chinese: 丹霞) landform, which refers to various landscapes found in southeast, southwest and northwest China that ‘consist of a red bed characterized by steep cliffs’.
Like many other geoparks in China, some of the spots are named, but no matter how fancy those names are, the most important is your own imagination.
Known for its colorful rock formations, it has been voted by Chinese media outlets as one of the most beautiful landforms in China.
There is an ‘old house’ inside the park, which was a movie set of a Chinese movie. It looks interesting but Choumeizai still prefers nature.
