Xianrenya (Chinese: 仙人崖) is part of Maijishan (麥積山), which is located in Tianshui (天水), Gansu (甘肅), China. The construction of Xianrenya began in the 5th century, but most of the temples we see nowadays were built in the Qing Dynasty (17th century).
On the way to the temples, you can see some interesting pine trees, they can molt and look like the camouflage patterns of military clothing.
Xianrenya was a popular place for religious practice or meditation, so there are many temples and monasteries.
The east side of Xianrenya is quite desolate, while the west side is more crowded.
Scorch marks are everywhere, it is said that during the end of the Ming Dynasty, some of the descendants of the emperor fled here, so the soldiers of the Qing Dynasty set fire to force them out.
Most of the statues inside the temples are well preserved, ancient Chinese were so tolerant about religion, Xianrenya houses all kinds of deities except Jesus.
Xianrenya was home to fireflies, the scenery was much more romantic in the past, but now it is all gone due to pollution.
