Shirakabako (Japanese: 白樺湖) is located in Nagano Prefecture (長野県), Japan. The lake is 1416 meters above sea level and the deepest is around 9 meters. There are many ski resorts around the lake, but even though you don’t ski, you can still enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Round the lake is a plank walkway, but part of it has been covered by snow.
There are some abandoned hotels next to Shirakabako, look so creepy.
The red torii (Japanese: 鳥居, literally bird abode) in the middle of Shirakabako is so vivid, which reminds Choumeizai that there are still many colors in this world, not just black or white.
Although Shirakabako doesn’t have any famous scenic spot, its snowscape won’t disappoint you for sure.
