Taman Sari (Javanese: ꦠꦩꦤ꧀ ꦱꦫꦶ) is located in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Built in the mid-18th century, Taman Sari was a former royal garden of the Sultan, now it becomes a major tourist attraction of Yogyakarta.
Taman Sari consists of several distinct areas, the bathing complex in the centre is amongst the most prominent and well preserved.
Next to the pool is a small tower, you can view the whole pool. In the past, the Sultan liked to peep his concubines bathing from here.
The west entrance was formerly used as the main entrance to the bathing complex. The east facade of the gate is still visible today, but the west facade is blocked by settlements.
Taman Sari looks a bit shabby, the past romance has long gone, but tourists can still imagine how alluring it was by visiting here.
