Jellyfish Lake (Palauan: Ongeim'l Tketau, "Fifth Lake") is a marine lake located on Eil Malk island in Palau. Millions of golden jellyfish migrate horizontally across the lake daily, which makes it an ideal place for snorkeling.
To protect the ecological system of the Jellyfish lake, all visitors must pay 100 USD ‘environment fee’ and wash away the sunblock before they go in.
There is still a distance between the pier and the lake, the ground is covered with sharp stones, you better wear sneakers instead of slippers.
Jellyfish Lake is much bigger than Choumeizai’s expectation, and the facilities are quite complete, the lakeside even has cushions, which is safer for you to go down in the water.
The lake water is quite muddy and the visibility is bad, so it looks a bit creepy. There are more jellyfish if you swim further, the jellyfish is not poisonous to human beings, they are smooth and soft, and look so cute.
Jellyfish Lake was part of the ocean a long time ago, due to the crustal movement, now it is isolated and connected to the ocean through fissures and tunnels in the limestone.
Jellyfish need sunlight, the lake will have more jellyfish on sunny day. Be careful while you swim, or else you will hurt the jellyfish.
Being influenced by the slow motion of jellyfish, the motion of Choumeizai is also getting slower and slower, Choumeizai just wants to become a tiny jellyfish, enjoy such a carefree life forever.
