Paro Taktsang (Dzongkha: སྤ་གྲོ་སྟག་ཚང་) also known as Tiger's Nest, it is believed that Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche) flew to this location from Singye Dzong on the back of a tigress. This place was consecrated to tame the Tiger demon.
Besides Tiger's Nest, there are other monasteries in the mountain, but most of them are strictly prohibited for tourists so as not to disturb the studies of the monks.
Tiger's Nest is located at high altitude, there are several lookouts around, you can enjoy the panoramic scenery of Paro valley.
A small temple hanging high between the cliffs, transcendent but without pride.
The security of Tiger's Nest is quite strict, all devices which have the function of the camera are not allowed inside, so you must leave your phones outside.
Next to the entrance are some free lockers, you need to line up and wait a while if there are too many visitors.
Unfortunately, a fire broke out in the main building of the monastery in 1988. After the restoration works were undertaken, Tiger's Nest is no longer the same as its original structure, but it is still the holiest temple in Bhutan.
Since there is only one route towards Tiger's Nest, after you have visited the temple, you need to go back the same way, please reserve some strengths.
