Taihang Mountains (Chinese: 太行山) are situated at the eastern China, stand astride Shanxi (山西), Henan (河南) , Hebei (河北) and Beijing (北京). There are many beautiful sceneries in Taihang Mountains, Taihangshan Gorge (太行山大峡谷) in Linzhou (林州) of Henan is one of the popular tourist attractions.
Taohua Valley (桃花谷; means ‘Peach flowers valley’) is the essence of Taihangshan Gorge, there are several little shops at the riverside, selling dried fruits such as figs, cherries and hawthorns.
Besides those little shops, there are restaurants also, but Choumeizai hasn’t tried, cannot tell you what they serve.
The name of Shanxi Province, meaning ‘west of the mountains’, derives from its location west of the Taihang Mountains, as does the name of Shandong (山東)Province (east of the mountains).
Taihang Mountains are very very old, so the colors of the rocks here are very vivid, but the rocks are too big so Choumeizai cannot pick for souvenirs.
The scenery becomes more beautiful under the sunlight, the little streams are green as jade.
At the end of this journey you can see a big waterfall named Jiulianpu (九連瀑; means ‘Nine connected waterfalls’), the waterfall is actually formed by countless small waterfalls, looks incredibly splendid.
