Odawara Castle (Japanese: 小田原城) is a Japanese castle in the city of Odawara (小田原), Kanagawa Prefecture (神奈川県), Japan. Odawara Castle is a very popular cherry blossom viewing spot in the Kanto region.
The buildings in the castle were almost completely destroyed after the Kanto Earthquake in 1923. The Tenshu (天守) is actually an antique building built in 1960.
Today is Sunday, so there is a Sunday market in Odawara Castle, selling all kinds of old things. Those who are interested may wish to spend some time hunting for treasures here.
The Sunday market also sells different kinds of snacks which are cheap and delicious, you can just stay here for lunch.
The cherry blossoms are everywhere, and the scenery is beautiful. The only fly in the ointment is there are too many tourists in the park.
There are not many cherry trees around Tenshu, but the location of the cherry blossom trees is excellent, it sets off the ordinary buildings with extraordinary beauty.
There are many people picnicking n the open space next to Tenshu, Choumeizai also sits on the ground and enjoys it for a while, experiencing the fun of Hanami (はなみ, flower viewing).
