Gahai (Chinese: 尕海) is located in Luqu County (碌曲縣), Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture (甘南藏族自治州) in the south of Gansu province (甘肅省), China. The area of Gahai is around 2400 Hectare, which is the biggest plateau lake in Gansu.
There are several wooden plank walkways around the lake, and those walkways are connected to the lookouts, which are convenient for the tourists.
The end of the walkways is the endless Gahai, the weather is nice, so the lake looks like a mirror with the reflection of the mountain and sky.
Gahai is also a nature reserve for birds, there will be a lot of swans and herons in summer.
It is spring now, so the grassland is paved by yellow flowers, as beautiful as the mirror-like lake.
The sun comes out, some groundhogs lie on the grassland to have sunbathing, very cute.
Ga (尕) means small, so Gahai (尕海) means small sea or small lake.
