Dosan Seowon (Korean: 도산서원) is located in Dosan-myeon (도산면), Andong-si (안동시), Gyeongsangbuk-do (경상북도), South Korea. Dosan Seowon was listed as an UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2019.
Dosan Seowon was built in 1574, four years after the death of Korean Confucian scholar Yi Hwang (이황) by some of his disciples and other Korean Confucian authorities.
Dosan Seowon has a small museum, which exhibits the cultural relics found in Dosan Seowon.
Sisadan (시사단) is located at the south of Dosan Seowon, you can go there by a pathway.
Nakdonggang (낙동강) lies between Dosan Seowon and Sisadan, which is the longest river in South Korea, and passes through major cities such as Daegu and Busan.
Sisadan is a big mound built in the 18th century, to commemorate an imperial examination held in Sisadan.
There is only an old monument on the top of Sisadan and nothing else, but it is an ideal lookout to enjoy the view of Nakdonggang and Dosan Seowon.
