Shennongjia (Chinese: 神農架) is a forestry district in northwestern Hubei (河北) Province, China. Shennongjia occupies 3,253 square kilometers, while over 90% of its area is virgin forest. Choumeizai will talk about Tianshengqiao (天生橋), one of the famous scenic spots in Shennongjia.
Tianshengqiao Scenic Area is located at the foot of Laojun Mountain in Shennongjia, it is 1,800 meters above sea level, with a total area of 20 square kilometers.
Tianshengqiao, literally meaning ‘natural born bridge’ in Chinese, is a bridge-like stone arch eroded by a river, as the name implies.
There is a wooden walkway along the cliff, not difficult to climb up, it takes around 1.5 hours to walk around.
The ‘bridge’ is far bigger than Choumeizai expects, as if the mouth of the motherland which can swallow everything in this world.
Tianshengqiao is a scenic tourist area characterized by caves, cliffs, waterfalls and rivers. Choumeizai is impressed by the cleanliness and purity of the water and air.
There is a natural spring in the scenic area which provides clean mineral water, a taste of such beautiful nature.
Not too far from the exit are some stalls opened by local vendors. It is said that the rice ball made from a kind of local black grain is good for health, Choumeizai doesn’t believe it but still tries one.
