Shapotou (Chinese: 沙坡頭) Scenic Area is located in about 20 kilometers away from Zhongwei (中衛) County in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region (寧夏回族自治區), China. It is an ideal place to enjoy the scenery of both desert and the Yellow River.
Shapotou Scenic Area provides several activities, tourists can take the lift to go to the top of the slope.
The Yellow River takes a sudden turn in the Shapotou area and gradually flows gently, thus creating such natural beauty.
Shapotou Scenic Area is divided into two parts by Baotou–Lanzhou railway (包蘭鐵路). Baotou–Lanzhou railway is a 995 kilometres railway line that connects the cities of Baotou (包頭) in Inner Mongolia to Lanzhou (蘭州) in Gansu (甘肅) Province.

If you want some excitement, you can try to sit on a small basin to slide down the slope. The slope is around 200 meters long and 80 meters high, it is not dangerous but quite exciting, let’s try.
