Tap Mun (Chinese: 塔門), also known as Grass Island, is an island located in the northeastern part of Hong Kong territory. Tap Mun is around 1.69 km², it attracts many local tourists on Saturday and Sunday. There are some stores and restaurants opened by the residents on the island.
There is only one seafood restaurant on Tap Mun, and there are not many dishes to choose from, while most of them are seafood.
Sea urchin fried rice looks very attractive, but it doesn't taste like sea urchin.
Hakka steamed salted chicken is not fresh and tender, but the taste of the chicken is very savory.
Salt and pepper squid is one of the famous dishes of the restaurant. The squid is fresh and has a strong curry fragrance, good to eat it with wine.
There is a small grocery opposite the seafood restaurant, their homemade tofu flower is very famous, one of the must eat on Tap Mun.
The tofu flower is unexpectedly delicious. It is not only smooth but also has a strong bean flavor. It tastes even better after adding ginger juice. A bowl of $12 is indeed worth it.
