Rongwo River (Chinese: 隆務河), or Gu Chu River, is located in Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture (黃南藏族自治州), Qinghai (青海) Province, China. Rongwo River is 156.8 kilometers in length, and the scenery along the river is incredibly splendid.
Perhaps this area is extremely desolate, the nature and people have not yet been polluted by tourists, still look immaculately clean and pure.
Qinghai Province is next to Tibet, so the mountain shape here is similar to Tibet’s.
Rongwo River is one of the tributaries of Yellow River (黃河), since it has not passed through the Loess Plateau (黃土高原) in Gansu (甘肅) Province, the water is still green and clear.
Getting close to Tongren (同仁) city, there is a canyon in the length of 20 kilometers, Rongwo canyon (隆務峽). Besides the natural beauty, you can see many beautiful paintings along the way, that’s why Rongwo canyon earned its name as ‘the origin of Regong arts’.
