Victoria Peak (Chinese: 太平山) is a hill on the western half of Hong Kong Island. It is also known as Mount Austin, and locally as The Peak. With an elevation of 552 meters, it is the highest hill on Hong Kong Island. Choumeizai will talk about the Lugard Road.
Lugard Road (盧吉道) is a road located on The Peak, named after Sir Frederick Lugard, Governor of Hong Kong from 1907 to 1912.
Located approximately 400 meters above sea level, the road is a popular walking path and is known for spectacular vistas over Victoria Harbour.
Lugard Road is a semi-circular 2.4-kilometer road that mainly follows the contours of the hillside.
Lugard Road has over a hundred years of history, and the design of railings and street lamps still retains the British style of the colonial era, which is elegant and beautiful.
Along the way, towering old trees are everywhere, which is very comfortable.
The road is approximately 3 meters wide at its widest and less than 2 meters at its narrowest and, while not entirely pedestrian, has vehicular restrictions.
