Daming Palace National Heritage Park (Chinese: 大明宮遺址公園) is located at the northeast of Xi'an (西安), Shaanxi (陝西) Province, China. Daming Palace (大明宮)was the imperial palace complex of the Tang dynasty, located in its capital Chang'an (長安; now known as Xi'an).
Daming Palace National Heritage Park is really huge , it takes around 20 minutes walk from the car park of the first gate of Daming Palace, Danfeng Gate (丹鳳門).
On 1 October 2010, the Daming Palace National Heritage Park was opened to the public, two third of the park is entrance free.
There are several exhibition halls located throughout the park, showcase the excavated cultural relics of the site.
All the palace constructions had long gone, only platforms were left, you need to ‘recover’ the palace by your own imagination.
Daming Palace served as the imperial residence of the Tang emperors for more than 220 years. Today, it is designated as a national heritage site of China.
There is a miniature park inside, which displays miniature constructions of Daming Palace, you can feel a bit of splendor of such a long gone palace.
