Qilou City (Chinese: 騎樓城) is located at the old quarter of Wuzhou, now it still has 22 streets and over 500 Qilau, it is the biggest area of Qilou in China, a silent witness of the prosperity of Wuzhou.
Qilou City has become a historical site preserved by the local government, vehicles fueled by gasoline are strictly prohibited, only electric vehicles are allowed.
Wuzhou has long been suffering flood, so the design of the Qilou here is quite unique, one of the features is a door built on the external wall on the second floor, which allows people to get in even though the first floor is flooded.
