Huangshan (Chinese: 黄山, literally meaning the Yellow Mountain) is a mountain range in southern Anhui (安徽) Province in eastern China. Huangshan is well known for its scenery, Choumeizai will show you some beautiful Huangshan pine trees.
Huangshan was originally called Yishan (黟山) since the pines made the mountains look dark, and it was renamed because of a legend that Emperor Xuanyuan Huangdi (軒轅黃帝) once made alchemy here.
The pines look like deities standing on the rocks, no wonder Huangshan pine is the frequent subject of traditional Chinese paintings and literature, as well as modern photography.
Huangshan pine, is a pine endemic to the mountains of eastern China, in the provinces of Anhui, Fujian (福建), Guizhou (貴州), Hubei (湖北), Hunan (湖南), Jiangxi (江西), and Zhejiang (浙江), it is named after Huangshan since it was first described there.
Huangshan pine is an evergreen tree with a very broad, flat-topped crown of long, level branches. They typically grow at moderate to high altitudes on steep, rocky crags, and are a major vegetation component in Huangshan.
