Wide and Narrow Alley (Chinese: 寬窄巷子) is located in Chengdu City (成都市), Sichuan Province (四川省), China. This historical and cultural reserve consists of three parallel ancient city alleys, namely Wide Alley, Narrow Alley and Well Alley.
There are many specialty shops along both sides of the street, selling all kinds of Sichuan-style snacks, handicrafts and books.
The history of Wide and Narrow Alley can be dated back to the Qing (清) Dynasty (1644-1911). At that time, the area was a city within the Chengdu city where the court quartered troops.
Wide and Narrow Alley is a popular entertainment and nightlife block as well as a famous tourism site in Chengdu, with lots of restaurants, pubs and teahouses.
Wide and Narrow Alley is very clean, all public toilets are in good sanitary condition, and the management is quite good.
