Nam Sang Wai (Chinese: 南生圍) is a wetland area in Yuen Long (元朗), New Territories (新界), Hong Kong. Nam Sang Wai is considered ecologically important, and serves as a stopping place for migratory birds.
Nam Sang Wai covers a roughly triangular area. It is bordered by the Shan Pui River (山貝河) in the west, separating it from Yuen Long Industrial Estate.
Almost the whole Nam Sang Wai is covered with greens, but it has been threatened by illegal logging and mysterious fires recently.
Wedding Bridge (婚紗橋) is the most popular spot in Nam Sang Wai, Choumeizai doesn’t know how can a shabby wooden bridge turns a normal wetland romantic.
Although Nam Sang Wai is big, and most areas are privately owned, trespassing is not allowed.
Nam Sang Wai is a popular recreational destination, especially on weekends, so if you want to take good photos or enjoy the peace of nature, better go there on weekdays.
Nam Sang Wai is home to many birds, including seagulls, northern pintails, yellow-nib ducks black-faced spoonbills.
