Mae Wang (Thai: แม่วาง) is a district in the central part of Chiang Mai province in northern Thailand. Mae Wang has been isolated for many years and has preserved large tracts of primitive mountain forests. Mae Wang has many beautiful waterfalls, Choumeizai has visited one of them.
The waterfall is located deep in the mountains, and it takes about two hours to walk from the resort, which is very remote.
Choumeizai sweats a lot, so he jumps into the water immediately. The water flow of the waterfall is not so big, but the water is still clear and cold.
There is no restaurant here, so the lunch can only be prepared by a local who lives near the waterfall. The lunch is just a big pot of instant noodles with mixed vegetables, not delicious but no choice.
There are many simple wooden bridges in the forest. You need to be very skillful when crossing the bridges.
Fire farming prevails here, so some of the hillsides are charred, and the air is also filled with a faint smell of coke.
Mae Wang is home to the Karen people (Burmese: ကရင်), an ethnic group living in eastern Myanmar and western Thailand, mainly relying on farming for a living.
