Mae Wang (Thai: แม่วาง) is a district in the central part of Chiang Mai province in northern Thailand. With an area of around 120 square kilometers, Mae Wang National Park (อุทยานแห่งชาติแม่วาง) is mostly covered by mountains and forests.
There are many beautiful waterfalls in Mae Wang National Park, and the water is cold and clear, which is a good place to cool off the heat.
The average temperature in Mae Wang throughout the year is about 20 degrees Celsius, but it is still hot and humid in summer. Remember to bring water before you go hiking.
The weather is so hot, so Choumeizai jumps into the water without hesitation. The water flowing down from the waterfall is very cool, the heat of Choumeizai disappears immediately.
There is no changing room or toilet here, only a dirty little hut.
Across Mae Wang, the ethnic Hill Tribe people are more present than in other parts of Thailand. Groups with large populations in the district include the Karen people, Hmong and Akha peoples.
According to the tour guide, the Thai princess runs a school for the ethnic minorities here, so the villagers respect her very much.
