Fuxi Temple (Chinese: 伏羲廟) is located in Tianshui (天水), Gansu (甘肅), China. It was the 14th day of the first month in the lunar calendar when Choumeizai visited there, the locals were still celebrating lunar new year.
There is a big old stage inside Fuxi Temple, the actors sing so loud and rough that Choumeizai doesn’t understand what the lyrics mean. It is called Qinqiang (秦腔) or Luantan (亂彈), which is the representative folk Chinese opera of the northwest China.
Many locals are sticking a little red human shaped paper on the trees, it is a traditional way to wish for health.
Lantern riddle is an indispensable fun of the lunar new year, you can get prizes if you solve the riddle.
Nowadays, the atmosphere of the lunar new year is fading fast due to the modernization of China, Choumeizai is glad that Tianshui still preserves the tradition well.
