Jian Shui Confucian Temple (Chinese: 建水文廟) is located in the western part of Jian Shui (建水) County, Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture (紅河哈尼族彝族自治州), Yunnan (雲南) Province, China. The lotus dance shown on Pan pool (泮池) in the temple is incredibly beautiful.
Pan pool is the name of a pool built in ancient China, the pool is generally semi-circular, functions for the prevention of fire, temperature adjustment and the symbolic meaning of feng shui (風水).
Although the lotuses on Pan pool have withered, they still look pretty.
On the other side of Pang Pool, there are four grandpa performing string quartet, although it is just an impromptu, the melody is still beautiful.
Jian Shui Confucian Temple is not just a relic and tourist attraction, it is also the main recreation center of the locals.
Constructed in the Yuan Dynasty (1285), Jian Shui Confucian Temple was expanded during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
Now the temple covers a total area of around 76,000 square meters, it is the biggest Confucian Temple in Yunnan Province.
