Little Tokyo (Japanese: リトル・トーキョー) is an ethnically Japanese American district in downtown Los Angeles and the heart of the largest Japanese-American population in North America, it is the largest and most populous of only three official Japantowns in the United States.
The watchtower of Little Tokyo was built in 1978. It is a replica typically found in rural Japan of traditional fire lookout towers of the area.
Under the watchtower is the main entrance of a ‘Japanese Village’, the ‘village’ is actually an outdoor shopping arcade, it has some Japanese restaurants and shops.
Little Tokyo is crowded with tourists during Saturday night, the square has free karaoke, some people sing Japanese songs.
On the other hand, the shops in Little Tokyo will open late every Saturday night, selling imported Japanese products.
