Ta Prohm (Khmer: ប្រាសាទតាព្រហ្ម, "Ancestor Brahma") was founded by the Khmer King Jayavarman VII in the late 12th and early 13th centuries. The photogenic combination of trees growing out of the ruins and the jungle surroundings have made it a paradise for photographers.
Jayavarman VII constructed Ta Prohm in honour of his family. The temple's main image, representing Prajnaparamita, the personification of wisdom, was modelled on the king's mother.
The giant trees are absolutely the main highlight of Ta Prohm, but the moss in the temple is also worth seeing, both green moss and red moss have ‘painted’ the gray wall pretty well.
The shades of trees are everywhere, you don’t need to worry even though the sunlight is strong, but if you want to take good photos, it would be better to come here in the early morning.
