Lianzhou Underground River (Chinese: 連州地下河) is a typical subtropical karst cave in Lianzhou (連州), Guangdong (廣東), China. Since the cave mouth of Lianzhou Underground River is so big, it is also nicknamed ‘Big mouth cave’.
Lianzhou Underground River is famous for stalactites and underground river, so it has two routes for tourists, one on the land and one on the water.
Lianzhou Underground River has many oddly-shaped stalactites, sea fogs, steep cliffs, old pines, thermal springs, and waterfalls, most of them are decorated by artificial lighting, very colorful.
Lianzhou Underground River runs through four mountains, and is approximately 1,500 meters in length.
You can even take a boat ride on the underground river, the waterfalls on the way are so splendid.
At the end of the cave there is a little shrine named ‘Cave of long life’, inside the shrine there is a stalactite which looks like Peng Zu. Peng Zu (彭祖) is a legendary long-lived figure in China, supposedly lived over 834 years.
