Laolongtou (Chinese: 老龍頭; literally meaning ‘old dragon's head’) is located in Qinhuangdao (秦皇島), Hebei (河北) province, China. Laolongtou is right next to the Liaodong Bay (遼東灣)coast, which is the eastern eastern terminal point of the Great Wall.
The construction of Laolongtou began in the Ming dynasty (1368-1644), now it is still well preserved and becomes a popular tourist destination.
Besides the stone constructions, the wooden constructions in Laolongtou are also well preserved, since Laolongtou has undergone several major renovations in the Qing dynasty (1644-1911).
It was said that Laolongtou was the place where Qianlong Emperor (1711-1799) viewed the ocean.
Laolongtou is the location where the Great Wall meets the Bohai Sea (渤海), it lies nearly 300 kilometres east of Beijing and is linked to Shenyang (瀋陽).
The wind in Laolongtou is strong and chilly, even though a tourist like Choumeizai can barely stand it, how about the soldiers who guarded here hundreds years ago?
