Nachikatsuura (Japanese: 那智勝浦) is a town located in Higashimuro (東牟婁) District, Wakayama (和歌山) Prefecture, Japan. Nakanoshima (中の島) is an island hotel not too far from the city center of Nachikatsuura, it takes around 10 minutes boat ride to get there.
The staff who receives Choumeizai is a friendly auntie, her English is quite good, so don’t worry if you don’t know Japanese.
The hotel room is incredibly spacious and it has two big windows, the air is fresh and clean.
The Japanese dinner is one of the highlights of the hotel, the display of the foods and the tableware is beautiful as a work of art.
Nachikatsuura is famous for seafood, the tempura here is different from the other places in Japan, you need to do sea salt instead of sauce.
Most of the dishes use fish as ingredients, Choumeizai really likes the fish head pot, from which you can really taste the essence of the sea.
The island has 6 natural hot spring sources which provide around 560 liters of hot water per minute. You can also enjoy the hot spring in your room if you don’t want to go to the open-air bath.
There is no Wi-Fi in the room, so if you want to get access to the internet, you need to go to the lobby, just sleep early.
