Duona Suspension Bridge is 232 meters long and 103 meters tall, it is part of a trail that connects the top of a ridge-line, giving hikers 360 views of the river valley and surrounding landscape.
The bridge was completed during the Japanese Colonial Era (early 1900's) and was the main connection between the Rukai tribe living at Duona Village to the rest of Taiwan.
Maolin is located just to the south of the Central Mountain Range (中央山脈). The height of Maolin ranges from 230 meters to 2700 meters above sea level, with hot tropical and humid weather.
Viewing from the high place, the Snake Head Rock (蛇頭岩) looks like a huge snake head dormant in the mountains, which is very spectacular.
