Amanohashidate (Japanese: 天橋立) is located in Miyazu Bay (宮津灣) of northern Kyoto Prefecture (京都府), Japan. Amanohashidate is famous for its beautiful scenery, Hiryū-kan (飛龍観) is one of the ideal places to enjoy such beauty.
Hiryū-kan has several lookouts with handrails, which allow tourists to do "Matanozoki (股のぞき), to view the sand bar upside down.
The sand bar is 3.3 km long and covered with about 7,000 pine trees, which looks like a jade bridge hanging in the bright blue sky.
Next to the lookout is a small amusement park, but the facilities look quite old, and they are not free.
‘Ring of Wisdom’ in front of the restaurant is another place for a nice view, you can circle the ‘bridge’ inside the ring.
