Ba-yien Village (Chinese: 八煙聚落) is located at Yangmingshan National Park (Chinese: 陽明山國家公園) of New Taipei City, Taiwan, it is 300 meters above sea level. Choumeizai accidentally found this place during morning exercise, and enjoyed a green morning with serenity.
Ba-yien Village is a private area, all entrances of residences have notices, no tourist is allowed to get in without permission.
Despite this, there are few shops in the village which sell the local vegetables, targeting the tourists.
After you go through a small thicket, you can see a popular tourist destination ‘In the middle of the water’, perhaps there are too many tourists, you need to pay if you want to go in, but the scenery around is also nice even though you only stay outside.
Ba-yien Village is high at the south but low at the north, ever since the village was established, the villagers have been diverting the water from the mountains for irrigation, until now.
The village named ‘Ba-yien’, means ‘Eight smoke’, since there is a natural hot spring next to it, and the steam makes the village look smokey.
