There are several hiking routes in Hallasan(Korean: 한라산), Jeju(Korean: 제주), Gwaneumsa(Korean: 관음사) is one of these, its overall length is 8.7km.
The route of Gwaneumsa is quite steep, but it is about 1km shorter than Seongpanak(Korean: 성판악), going down is much easier than climbing up, so Choumeizai choose this way to go down.
Flanking the trestle there are many white old trunks, all are twisted to interesting shapes, looks like modern sculptures.
The topography of Gwaneumsa is steep and high, the scenery is so beautiful, out of Choumeizai’s expectation.
The trail of Gwaneumsa is a bit narrow, but it has several lookouts alongside, so the hikers can enjoy the views around.
Perhaps the god wants Choumeizai to see more beautiful things, on the way the clouds floating around, looks like a neverland.
According to the old legend of Hallasan, if anyone were to climb up the mountain, see a star and call out ‘노인성’(Canopus, in eastern culture, it means star of old man), they could live a longer life.
