Devil's Peak (Chinese: 魔鬼山), also named Fortress Hill (炮台山), is a peak in Hong Kong, surrounded by Tiu Keng Leng (調景嶺), Lei Yue Mun (鯉魚門) and Yau Tong (油塘). Devil's Peak was occupied by local pirates in the 19th century to control the passage of Lei Yue Mun.
Devil's Peak is close to the urban area, and the transportation is convenient. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from MTR Yau Tong Station to the entrance of Devil's Peak.
Since Lei Yue Mun is an important nautical passage that leads to Victoria Harbour, the area around the peak was garrisoned by the British Army in the 20th century.
The remains of forts are still preserved well on Devil's Peak, and are now classified as a Grade 2 historic building by the Antiquities and Monuments Office.
Devil's Peak stands at 222 metres in height, Choumeizai takes around 30 minutes to climb to the top.
On the way to the top, you can overlook Lei Yue Mun and Tseung Kwan O (將軍澳) in the distance.
