The Great Barrier Reef can be seen from outer space and is the world's biggest single structure made by living organisms, its structure is built by billions of tiny organisms, known as coral polyps. Norman Reef is one of the most popular diving sites of the Great Barrier Reef, the corals here are colorful, looks like an underwater gallery.
Located 80 kilometres from Cairns, Norman Reef lies at the northern edge of the Great Barrier Reef, being the most northern reef visited by the boats from Cairns.
Norman Reef varies from a depth of 10 to 20 metres, the water is not so deep, when the sunlight is strong enough, the corals will be filled with colors, very beautiful.
Some oceanographers consider the greatest threat to the Great Barrier Reef to be climate change, causing ocean warming which increases coral bleaching. We must preserve our earth for the sake of the sustainability of the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef.
