Sandakan is located on the Sandakan Peninsula and east coast of Sabah state, Malaysia. Sandakan was the former capital of British North Borneo, English colonial architectures were everywhere, including this English Tea House.
This restaurant offers traditional English cuisine and great Asian dishes, the starters are assorted snacks in English, Chinese and Malaysian styles, Choumeizai likes their satay beef and fish.
There are two main dishes on their lunch menu, the chicken chest is tender and tasty, perfect match with the homemade sauce, which is milky but not oily.
The restaurant uses local fresh fish to make the fish fillet, it should be tasty but the Chinese black bean sauce is a bit weird.
The dessert is baked apple, the soft apple with the melting toffee sauce is incredibly delicious.
The tea house sits on a little hill overlooking the Sulu Sea from the Sandakan Bay, you would better sit outdoors to enjoy the beautiful view if the weather is nice.
