Shinjuku Gyo-en (Japanese: 新宿御苑) is a large park and garden in Shinjuku (新宿), Tokyo, Japan. The garden has more than 20,000 trees, including approximately 1,500 cherry trees, which make it an ideal place for Cherry blossom viewing.
According to the official information, most of the cherry trees in Shinjuku Gyo-en bloom from late March to early April, but since there are many variety of cherry trees here, you can still enjoy the beauty of cherry blossom in early March.
There are only a few fully bloomed Cherry trees in the garden, since most of the trees are still green, the pink is so prominent, it can be seen easily from afar.
The cherry trees bloom at this time are Fuji Cherry , which are redder than Tokyo Cherry (染井吉野), and the color is more vivid.
