Nuwara Eliya (Sinhala: නුවර එළිය) is a city in the hill country of the Central Province, Sri Lanka. Nuwara Eliya is considered to be the most important location for tea production in Sri Lanka, Choumeizai once dined in a hotel converted from an old tea factory in Nuwara Eliya.
The restaurant has a dress code, and shorts and slippers are not allowed into the restaurant. The food served in the buffet dinner and the quality is very good, especially the soup.
The food is mainly western style, so there is so much meat, but very few vegetables and seafood.
The food served in the buffet breakfast is relatively light, and the oat meal is cooked with local fresh milk, very smooth and delicious.
However, the waiter is quite rude to the Asian-faced customer likes Choumeizai, and repeatedly queries Choumeizai whether he was with the tour group, but never asks the other white guests.
Next to the hotel is a small restaurant converted from a railroad car, which can accommodate more than ten people for meals. What's more interesting is that the restaurant can be slightly shaken to simulate the situation of a train moving.
There is also a tea shop in the hotel for guests to enjoy tea and shopping.
The hotel is surrounded by tea plantations, which is refreshing. Nuwara Eliya has no obvious dry and rainy seasons, with an average annual temperature of 16 degrees Celsius, making it the coolest region in Sri Lanka.
Most of the tea-pickers live in the small villages surrounded by mountains, the scenery of the valleys is incredibly beautiful under the light of the morning sun.
