Chiang Mai Night Bazaar or just Night Bazaar (Thai: ไนท์บาซาร์), is located at the city center of Chiang Mai, Thailand. Night Bazaar Market is considered the largest market in Chiang Mai with more than one hundred stalls on sale.
The market has been famous for hundreds of years thanks to its location at the junction of the historic trade route linking Myanmar, Laos and China.
The night market is always packed with tourists. Chiang Mai Night Bazaar operates every day in the week, from evening to around midnight, regardless of the weather.
The shops inside the mall are mainly restaurants, offering a variety of authentic Thai delicacies.
Sometimes you can see ethnic minorities with traditional costumes walking in the night market. If you are interested, you can take a photo with them, but remember to give them some money afterward.
There is a small open-air market in Night Bazaar. The market is not fancy but it looks more local.
Most of the handicrafts sold in the open-air market are made by local people and much cheaper than shopping malls. It is a good place to buy souvenirs.
