Cuihua Mountain (Chinese: 翠華山) is in the northern part of the Qinling (秦嶺) Mountains, 20 kilometers from downtown Xian (西安), Shaanxi (陝西) Province, China. Cuihua Mountain is about 2100 meters above sea level, and its total area is around 1785 hectares.
Cuihua Mountain preserves the most complete landforms of ancient landslides and earthquakes, the Wind Cave (風洞) and Ice Cave (冰洞) are two highlights of the Cuihua Mountain Scenic Area.
Without sunshine, the Wind Cave is windy and cool nearly the whole year, even on the hottest days in summer.
The temperature difference between the Ice Cave and outside can reach 23℃ in summer, so the ice doesn’t melt in the cave.
In fact, both the Wind Cave and Ice Cave are not natural caves, but very narrow gaps formed by the collapsed stone.
Heavenly Pond (天池) is a natural quake lake around 14 hectares, visitors can enjoy boating and fishing here but the water looks so muddy.
The scenic area of Cuihua Mountain provides transport to the top of the mountain, but Choumeizai doesn’t want to miss the beauty on the way and prefers walking.
There are many restaurants at the bottom of Cuihua Mountain, you can try the local delicacies after hiking.
