Casa Vicens is located in the neighbourhood of Gràcia, Barcelona, Spain. It was built in 1883 to 1889 and was the first house designed by Antoni Gaudí, now a museum.
The admission of Casa Vicens includes the audio guide, which shows the tour route and the information in detail. The garden of Casa Vicens was much bigger before, but most of it was demolished due to the development of the community.
Casa Vicens was the residence of Manuel Vicens, the house has many big windows, which introduce the natural light outdoors and makes the indoor environment more spacious.
Although Casa Vicens is no longer a residence, there are still many old furniture inside, which makes it look the same as its old time.
The decoration indoors, including the floor, ceiling and the walls, have applied many plants and animal patterns, as if deep into the forest.
Perhaps the location of Casa Vicens is a bit desolate, there are not so many tourists and the admission is cheaper amongst other Guadi’s masterpieces, it is worth visiting if you are in Barcelona.
