Casa Milà is a modernist building located at Passeig de Gràcia, Barcelona, Spain. It was the last private residence designed by architect Antoni Gaudí and was built between 1906 and 1912. Casa Mila is one of the landmarks and popular tourist destinations of Barcelona.
The appearance of Casa Mila is quite unique, it is designed as a constant curve, both outside and inside, incorporating ruled geometry and naturalistic elements.
Perhaps Casa Mila is too famous, the admission is not cheap, but the audio guide is excellent, it will run automatically once you have reached the point.
Gaudí applied many naturalistic elements on Casa Mila. The attic looks like a forest, you can even feel the bird chirping in the air.
The roof is one of the most attractive features of Casa Mila, there are 38 chimneys, 2 ventilation shafts and 6 staircases in total, all look impressive in their shapes.
These chimneys and ventilation shafts represent the four elements of nature: earth, water, fire and air, they look like the genies in fairy tales, singing the songs of nature.
On the rooftop you can see Sagrada Família from afar and overlook the street around, the city view is nice.
