Dragon's Back (Chinese: 龍脊) is a mountain ridge in southeastern Hong Kong Island that passes through Shek O Peak (打爛埕頂山). Shek O Peak is 284m in height, and it is the tallest hill along the Dragon's Back trail.
There are two entrances to Dragon's Back, one of which is adjacent to the junction of Section 8 of Hong Kong Trail (港島徑) and Shek O Road (石澳道). Most tourists use this as their starting point.
In 2019, Dragon's Back Trail was selected by CNN as one of the world's 23 best trails.
Dragon's Back is located in an open area and with suitable wind conditions, it is one of the ideal places for paragliding in Hong Kong.
The highest point of Dragon's Back has a viewing platform, which can overlook the entire Shek O and Stanley, with beautiful scenery.
Not too far from the viewing platform is ‘Dragon Head’, the southern end of Dragon's Back Trail.
‘Dragon Head’ is a large bare rock hillside with little vegetation, but the scenery here is so beautiful.
The other entrance of Dragon's Back is located at ‘Dragon's Neck’, which leads to the section of Shek O Road near To Tei Wan (土地灣), you can take public transport to return to the urban area.
