Shennongjia (Chinese: 神農架) is a forestry district in northwestern Hubei (河北) Province, China. Shennongding (神農頂) is the highest part in Shennongjia, inside the scenic area of Shennongding there is a place named Banbi Rock (板壁岩), a stone forest.
Banbi Rock is located at the height of 2590 meters above sea level, it is very windy and chilly, remember to bring your jacket.
Countless strange rocks stand in this area, some of them look like mother and son, some of them look like a woman with a mirror, depending on your own imagination.
The scenic area of Banbi Rock is quite big, it takes over one hour to walk around the whole area, but it has a plank walkway, suitable for families.
It is said that the Shennongjia Wild Man came from Banbi Rock. Traces such as hair, dejection and bamboo nests were discovered in this area. Shennongjia Wild Man is a mysterious primate witnessed by many people in Shennongjia.
In addition to fostering high plant diversity, the variation in topography and the stability of the region's climate through past glaciation events has allowed for the maintenance of high animal diversity.
