Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque (Malay: Masjid Omar Ali Saifuddien) is an Islamic mosque in Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei. It is a famous tourist attraction of Brunei, and often considered as one of the most beautiful mosques in the Asia Pacific.
Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque is a royal mosque, so the decoration is extremely luxurious, it also serves as a symbol of the Islamic faith in Brunei.
All pilgrims can wash their faces and feet in this pavilion, in the middle there is a big pool, looks very cool. Since it is not the prayer time, no one is in the mosque.
The mosque lies next to an artificial lagoon on the banks of the Brunei River, at the riverside there is a beautiful big stone ship, a good match to the mosque.
The mosque unites Mughal architecture, Malay styles and Italian styles. It is very unique amongst the Islamic architectures in the world.
