HouFeng Bikeway was originally a railway. HouFeng Bikeway has a total length of 5.8 kilometers, connecting Houli Station (\u540e\u91cc\u8eca\u7ad9) to Fengyuan Station (\u8c50\u539f\u8eca\u7ad9).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/taiwan_2014\/2014-03-30-09-36-17.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/taiwan_2014\/2014-03-30-09-59-06.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>HouFeng Bikeway was converted from an old railway Jiushan Line (\u820a\u5c71\u7dda), which was abolished in 1997.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/taiwan_2014\/2014-03-30-09-59-12.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/taiwan_2014\/2014-03-30-09-59-36.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Built in 1908, Tunnel No. 9 (9\u865f\u96a7\u9053) is 1.2 kilometers long and is the longest tunnel of Jiushan Line.  The tunnel is illuminated and well ventilated, even more comfortable than outside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"433\" height=\"650\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/taiwan_2014\/2014-03-30-10-03-24.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/taiwan_2014\/2014-03-30-10-52-18.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>At the north entrance of the tunnel, there are four Chinese characters \"\u6f5b\u884c\u4e0d\u7a92\" (Sneak underwater without suffocation) inscribed by Goto Shinping (\u5f8c\u85e4\u65b0\u5e73), the chief civil officer of Taiwan during the Japanese occupation period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/taiwan_2014\/2014-03-30-10-46-09.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/taiwan_2014\/2014-03-30-10-09-57.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a \u201cCouple Tree\u201d near the north entrance of Tunnel No. 9.
